It isn’t very hard to determine if you are allergic to cats or not. Many people are allergic to these animals and already are aware of that fact, although they have never gone to the allergist.

They know that they are allergic to cats because when they are around the cat, they have an awful allergic reaction. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that it is your cat that is causing you the discomfort. But, what exactly are the cat allergy symptoms and how do you alleviate them, without getting rid of the family pet?

Some Symptoms to Look Out For

Sneezing uncontrollably or watery eyes are the most common forms of cat allergy symptoms. These occur when you come in contact with a cat or cat fur. There are some much worse symptoms you may have than those aforementioned.

Depending on the severity of your cat allergy, you may exhibit some cat allergy symptoms which are worse than the above mentioned maladies. An example, some people can have such bad cat allergy symptoms, they require immediate medical attention. These cat allergy symptoms are so severe, that they must avoid cats completely.

If you have cat allergy symptoms and don’t want to get rid of your pet, there are medicines and supplements that you may be able to try. If you have tried everything, and everything seems to fail, then it may be time to make a different decision.

To find a complete solution to your cat allergy, you may have to tell your cat good-bye. You may have to find him a home to go to where he will be treated well and loved by all. He will be alright. It is not your fault you have an allergy. It happens in life. Cat allergies are not rare, many suffer from this allergy.

Please remember, your cat allergy symptoms are not your cat’s fault and you can’t punish your cat for this. It is your body’s way of dealing with certain allergens. The allergen here- being the family pet, your cat.

If being around the cat continues to give you symptoms you have a choice, you can try to live with the cat and your allergies to the animal, or you can try to take medicine to combat your allergies and keep the cat. The decision is yours to make. Are you going to learn to deal with your allergies and keep the cat? Or are you going to get rid of the cat and live allergy free?
